Pens and Hot Chick On Moving Bones

Sometimes I kick myself for coming up with the idea of creating a business manufacturing surfboard bags. Bags are not easy to move around, big and bulky and they barely fit in most boxes. Getting them into the car isn’t all that easy either, that’s why we attempt to drive the bags to shops when [...]

Waiving the Green Flag. Not!

I was at B&N this week browsing through the surf mag section, looking at pics and advertisements. Everyone keeps telling me, you got to run some ads in the mags, get more exposure, get Wave Tribe's name out there. Three + years since I started Wave Tribe and I am still resisting it. The fact is I am not really into the surf industry. Yea, I own a surf company but I never wanted to be part of the industry. Contests, egos, corporate marketing strategies, thousands of dollars spent on one-page advertisements of some beautiful woman's ass. Don't get me wrong, I love looking at the female figure, but I never did buy a pair of reef sandals. Yet sex sells, so they say. Sometimes I wonder, can Wave Tribe survive without playing by the industry rules?

The Truth About Hemp – Was Henry Ford a Hippy?

Take a little time to learn some history, American history. America was built on this crop, way before the first doobie was lit by some flower child in the 60′s. After watching this short documentary. you’ll realize that hemp prohibition has much more to do with economic interests than some fear of losing a nation [...]

Video: Story of Electronics

I just watched another video from the same makers of “story of stuff”. Love it. They put it so simple and clear and even though the reality they are showing us is horrible, we are left with a feeling that there is something we can do about it. Watch it, and learn, then make a [...]

Just got back, loved it! It’s a 2 hour flight to warm waves and cold Coronas. Is there a south swell coming? Book your ticket for about $350 and get a car. Get the insurance. If you don’t the roads will rip apart your wallet. San Lucas is Vegas by the Sea. Hated it! San [...]

Mac Mounting, Costa Rica & Long Time Love

After three years of doing these emails I am still looking for the best way to communicate to the Tribe. In a world of bombarded communication via Facebook, Twitter, texts, Foursquare, and the occasional ‘young hot chicks’ email from my dad, I am kind of sick of all the digital paraphernalia in my life. Sometimes [...]
